A WOMAN was slapped on the behind while she was out jogging in Poole.

The incident occurred at around 4.20pm on Wednesday.

The woman was jogging along Haven Road towards Poole Harbour when she saw a man at the junction of Canford Crescent.

He reportedly smiled and winked at her.

She ignored him and looked over her shoulder to check for traffic as she crossed the road.

As she passed the offender she felt a hard slap. She continued running before stopping and turning around by which time the man had left the area.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses following the sexual assault.

The man is described as white and in his 50s, of medium build with grey scruffy hair. He had light stubble and was scruffy in appearance wearing dirty clothes - a dark baggy fleece which was waist length but ballooned out at the bottom and dark-coloured jeans.

No arrests have been made.

PC Andy Hale, of Poole police, said: "This was an unpleasant incident for the victim and I am keen to trace the offender. I would appeal to anyone who saw the man described by the victim in the area at the relevant time to please contact Dorset Police."
