Burglars broke into a home in Wesley Road by forcing open a patio door sometime between December 28 and 31.
Police say possessions were stolen.
An officer from the Wimborne and Colehill Neighbourhood Policing Team urged anyone with information to get in touch.
"Please review the security of your home - alarms are the most effective deterrent," she said.
"Remember to register any electronic item, and anything else with a serial number, at a property recording website such as Immobilise.com"
