VALUABLE tools were stolen from an outbuilding in North Dorset in the early hours of Christmas Day,
Thieves targeted a remote property in Lenthay Common, Sherborne, sometime between 11.30pm on December 24 and 8.30am the following day.
The offenders used bolt croppers to remove a padlock and chains on a gate before forcing their way into the outbuilding.
Police investigating the burglary said "many" tools were stolen, including a Ryobi RH600 hedge trimmer, a Wolf generator, two rechargeable Bosch drills and a Warrior Compressor.
A spokesperson from the Sherborne Neighbourhood Policing Team called for anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the common near the railway line to call 101, quoting crime reference number 55160192479.
