THOUSANDS of pounds worth of bikes were stolen from a property in Ringwood at the weekend.

Police are investigating after a Marin RiftZone and a Whyte E120 XT 2009, both of which are understood to be worth in excess of £1,500, were taken from a property in The Chase.

Officers believe the theft happened at some point between 6.15pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday after the offenders broke into a garage. The offenders also entered and searched the homeowner’s car, but no valuables had been left in the vehicle overnight.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “As a reminder please ensure garages are secured with good quality locks, alarms are set, vehicles are emptied of valuables and any unusual activity you notice is reported to the police immediately.

“Security products and advice can always be sought from The Barrington Centre in Ferndown from 10am to noon Monday to Saturday.”
