MODEL aircraft worth thousands of pounds have been stolen during a burglary in Holton Heath.

Police are investigating after a workshop in Admiralty Park housing the equipment, some of which is used by commercial customers for aerial photography, was targeted by thieves at some point between Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday.

Items stolen include a unique three-metre wingspan model aircraft powered by a jet engine, model helicopters and engines for model jets and planes.

PC Jon Kuspert, of Wareham police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area over the Bank Holiday weekend to contact me on 101.

“The items that were taken are very distinctive and anyone who may have been offered or seen such items for sale should contact us immediately.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 23:270. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
