POLICE have released CCTV footage of a potential witness to an alleged serious assault in Poole.

Detectives investigating the incident, which happened just before midnight on Sunday, February 28, in Parkstone Heights, have renewed their witness appeal after it was reported a local man in his 20s had sustained serious stab injuries.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Inspector Andy Roberts, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am now able to release CCTV footage of a potential witness who came to the man’s aid following the incident.

“He is described as white, was wearing a bobble hat and was carrying a rucksack. We believe he may have witnessed the incident or may have important evidence.

“We believe this person has walked through Parkstone Heights at around the time of the alleged offence and has then walked across Ringwood Road into Dorchester Road, toward Foxholes Road.

“If you are this person, I would ask you to please contact police on 101 as you may hold vital information that could assist me with my investigation.”

Two men have been charged with the attempted murder of Patrick Redmond following the incident.

Michael O'Rourke, 37, and Kieran Cameron, 33, both of no fixed abode, appeared separately at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court on Friday, March 4.

Both will be heard at Winchester Crown Court on March 21.
