Eight hotel rooms were broken into at a Bournemouth hotel last Saturday night.

CCTV images of two men police would like to speak to about the thefts have been released.

Officers say that during the evening of January 23, thieves got into eight guest rooms at the Hotel Miramar on East Overcliff Drive.

A quantity of cash, gold earrings and a gold and diamond necklace were stolen.

Police Constable Dave Buchanan, of Bournemouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the Hotel Miramar on Saturday evening and saw anything suspicious to please call me on 101.

“As part of my investigation, I am in a position to release CCTV images of two men I would like to speak to. I would ask the two men pictured or anyone who knows them to please call me.”

Hotel director David Bailey, who was out of the country at the time of the burglaries, said the Miramar's operations manager had spoken highly of the police investigation.

"The officers were incredibly supportive and helpful, and very kind to our guests, so we're very grateful to them," he said.
