A MAN was knifed to death in a protracted attack recorded by an alleged killer on a mobile phone, a court has heard.

The body of Phillip Nicholson was found at a property in Mallard Grange, Sea Road, Boscombe, on Tuesday, May 16 this year.

The 22-year-old, who had learning difficulties, had sustained gashes to his throat after being "lured" to ex-partner Isabella Gossling's flat, the hearing was told.

The jury was told Richard Moors, of Sea Road, had admitted murdering Mr Nicholson at an earlier hearing.

But yesterday afternoon, jurors sitting on the trial of Gossling were played a 17-minute audio track purported by prosecutors to document some of Mr Nicholson's last moments.

A man was heard crying and saying: "Stop, because I don't want you to, please.

"I don't want to be threatened. I just want to be friends."

A woman's voice, which prosecutors claim is that of Gossling, could be heard saying: "Can you come off my bed please because you're bleeding everywhere", and: "How deep has he cut you? Oh my days. He has cut you open quite badly".

After the male voice, claimed to be Mr Nicholson, says: "I want to go home", the woman alleged to be Gossling responds: "You're not going home."

Nigel Lickley QC, prosecuting the case at Winchester Crown Court, said jurors had to listen to the "harrowing" audio because the defendant's voice can allegedly be heard.

Telling the jury Gossling has a "habit" of recording events and conversations on an app installed on her mobile phone, Mr Lickley said: "[The files] reveal a domineering personality."

It is alleged that Mr Nicholson, who lived in supported accommodation in Parkstone, had been called to Gossling's flat by the defendant and her new boyfriend, 26-year-old Richard Moors, to meet a woman.

However, once there Mr Nicholson was killed, the court heard.

The defendant Gossling accused Mr Nicholson of raping her in 2014.

Prosecutors allege that Moors and Gossling "staged the scene" to make it look as if Mr Nicholson had slashed his own throat.

The pair then allegedly fled to Weymouth, where they were arrested later that day.

Gossling, of Sea Road, Boscombe, denies murder.

The trial continues.
