A 20-YEAR-OLD man appeared in court today charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Ryan Gane, of Church Road, Bournemouth, entered no plea at the hearing at Bournemouth Magistrates Court.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on June 9.
Armed police were called to a Southbourne road at midday yesterday following reports of a male cyclist allegedly stopping a member of the public and brandishing an object which resembled a gun.
The Dorset Police Firearms Unit were dispatched to the scene alongside six police vehicles and the dog unit, and their enquiries led them to a property in Castlemain Road.
