SENTIMENTAL items were stolen when burglars broke into a home in Southbourne.

Police are now looking for witnesses to the crime, or anyone with information, to come forward.

The victims had been away, so it is thought that the burglary could have taken place anytime between 5.30am on Sunday, February 15, and 4pm on Friday, February 20.

It happened in Woodland Avenue and the offenders gained entry before ransacking the home and stealing a number of items, the details of which have not been revealed.

PC Liz Cook, of Bournemouth police, said: “The victims had been away and were very distressed to return home and find they had been broken into and many sentimental items taken.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in this area, during the relevant time frame, to call Dorset Police on 101.

“All calls will be dealt with in strict confidence.”

No arrests have been made.
