Cold caller takes £100 from elderly victim after tricking his way into her home
A CALLOUS thief stole £100 from an elderly woman after tricking her into letting him into her Moordown home. Police say the offender called on the woman’s door in Ensbury Park Road asking if she wanted her gutters cleaned.
Once inside he swiped the cash from a drawer without her noticing.
A spokesman from Dorset Police said: “He has entered the property and whilst the lady was answering a telephone call he took a cash box from a drawer in the dining room containing £100.”
The burglary happened on Tuesday, November 25, between 2.50pm and 3pm.
Anyone with information is asked to call Dorset Police on 101 quoting crime number 049202.
