POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was allegedly assaulted in Bournemouth town centre.

It is alleged that a 25-year-old woman from Poole had a clump of hair pulled out by another woman in an unprovoked attack.

The incident occurred around 10pm on Saturday, February 15 near to the NCP car park and Hamptons Lounge Bar on Terrace Road.

The victim sustained a minor injury and did not require hospital treatment.

Police Constable Stephanie Newman, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything that can help with the investigation.

“It is believed some vehicles passed by at the time and their occupants may have information that can assist with our enquiries.

“I urge witnesses and anyone with information about the incident to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible.”

A 21-year-old woman from Okehampton has been arrested and been released on police bail.
