A YOUNG woman was hit in the face during an alleged assault in Bournemouth Town Centre on Monday night.
Police are looking into reports a 23-year-old Bournemouth woman was hit in the face from behind and are appealing for witnesses.
The alleged incident happened between 9.40pm and 9.55pm at the 5a bus stop on Gervis Place.The woman received minor injuries.
Police Constable Jessica Fredriksen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “There were a number of people at the bus stop when the incident took place who may be able to provide information to help with the investigation.”
A 49-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of common assault and has been released on police bail.
Witnesses should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 3:491 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
