A ‘HIGH speed’ police pursuit took place through the streets of Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses described the scene along Christchurch Road in Boscombe like ‘something out of a film’ after a red Honda Civic rushed past a queue of traffic swiftly followed by several police vehicles.
The Honda ended up crashing into a lamppost in Adeline Road. No one was injured.
Stuart Trump from Lytchett Matravers was in his vehicle in a queue of traffic when he saw the cars zoom past them.
“I suddenly saw all these flashing lights and then in a matter of seconds a red Honda came up the outside.
“He must have been doing 70-80mph and right behind him were two police cars, a BMW estate and a 4x4 followed by a white van.
“As we came back round past the Sovereign Centre, we saw the flashing blue lights and the car in a lamppost.”
A police spokesperson would only confirm the incident had taken place around 2.20pm. No other information was available.
