THE bad weather has had a “significant” effect on work to fix bags on the Boscombe Surf Reef.
Contractor ASR is carrying out repairs to deflated bags and adding new bags to improve the wave.
Tony Williams, executive director for environment and economic services, said on Wednesday: “Works are being undertaken by ASR at every suitable opportunity.
“The repair and refinement works require very specific tidal conditions, sea state and visibility. “The bad weather has continued to be a significant factor in progress, with very few working days been available over the past week due to the swell, wind and tidal conditions.”
