Let's start with bread. Or, rather, Parker House Rolls.
This recipe dates back to the 1870s and they look rather fabulous (albeit the kind of thing would-be Masterchef contenstants would make for their friends at dinner parties.) Sadly I can't test this one for you because I haven't got a cooker at the moment.
I love a good casserole. So this week, we've got three for you. (That's not overkill, is it?) They're not all heavy stodge though. First up is the delightfully named "Spring Chicken in a Pot". It's as green as the new leaves on the trees, it features tiny new potatoes and it's finished off with pesto for tremendous flavour. Yum
Next on the casseroles list is Tana Ramsay's lemon chicken... well, alright, technically it's a stew. But who knows the difference anyway, right? * I love lemon and chicken and garlic and tomatoes. Sometimes I play imaginary Desert Island Ingredients** (with foodstuffs instead of records) and those four would without doubt be on the list.
Which is why I love this stew. All my favourite things at once.
Next, it's a sausage casserole. Cabbage, thyme and butter beans are the ingredients that make this one a bit more than a Colemans special. Good winter food. So eat it while it's still cold. The weather, that is, not the food.

Finally, for the savouries, how about this as a new way of cooking breast of lamb. Roasted like spare ribs, with eastern spices, until crispy and gorgeous.
And last but not least, something sweet. You'd be forgiven for getting the impression that I'm obsessed with rose, after last week's Chocolate Rose Truffles but these cupcakes are so pretty I couldn't resist. Happy eating!
A late addition! Lost in the Larder has finally posted the recipe for chorizo oil. Now I'm *really* annoyed I don't have an oven. Wowee.
Casseroles go in the oven. So technically, none of these recipes are casseroles. But the last one has casserole in its name. So there.
**Oooh I feel an idea for a post coming on...
