Ramble around Radipole Lake
2:04pm Tuesday 12th June 2012 in News
The RSPB at Weymouth Wetlands are inviting people to ramble around Radipole Lake with them this Saturday, June 16.
The free, two-hour walk starts at 10am and staff and volunteers will be on hand to point out some of the reserve’s wonderful wildlife.
There will also be the opportunity to have a look round their newly refurbished Wild Weymouth Discovery Centre in the Swannery car park with its screens showing footage of the reserve’s wildlife. There’s also a coffee shop selling hot and cold drinks and snacks, with indoor and patio seating.
Weymouth Wetlands information officer Luke Phillips said: “We’re delighted to be able to invite people along for a gentle stroll around the reserve, including the new family trail with raised viewing platforms.
“We’ll be trying to track down a whole host of creatures that call Radipole Lake home – from kingfishers to water vole, bearded tits to marsh harriers and hopefully quite a few butterflies and other insects too.”
