BOURNEMOUTH’S bid to launch a record number of fireworks simultaneously has now got celebrity backing.
Former England rugby player Kyran Bracken, pictured, will be at the spectacular Roar on the Shore event tonight.
The event aims to break the world record for the number of rockets launched in 30 seconds and will also raise funds for the charity Help for Heroes.
Kyran, who brings his Ice Party to the BIC this week, will count down the seconds before the fireworks are launched.
And X Factor star Marisa Billitteri, who as part of Girlband made it through to the live finals of the TV show, will perform the Mariah Carey song Hero.
The song was released by the X Factor finalists last year in aid of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and Help for Heroes.
The event starts at 9pm with the record attempt scheduled for 9.30pm.
