MORE displays have been revealed for the 10th annual Bournemouth Air Festival – and this year organisers are promising more flying hours and aircraft than ever before.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), The Blades, The Tigers Freefall Parachute Display Team, Strikemaster and Otto the Helicopter were announced on the new Bournemouth Air Festival website.

They will be joining favourites the Red Arrows who will be performing on three days at this year’s show.

The RAF aerobatic display team will be performing on the event’s first day, Thursday, August 31, and on Friday, September 1, and Saturday, September 2.

They will not be performing on the last day of the festival - Sunday, September 3.

The RAF Typhoon Display Team will not be making an appearance at this year’s event due to commitments in Scotland.

At sea, a flotilla of military ships will be transforming the horizon, courtesy of the Royal Navy. They will once again be joined by the Army and the Royal Marines.

While on dry land, the military villages will be making a return alongside the funfair, demonstrations and food and drink stands.

Jon Weaver, Air Festival director, said: “We hope everyone likes the new website, we listened to feedback about the previous site and absorbing Createful’s expertise have created a website which we hope reflects what visitors want.

“We are really excited about this year’s festival – we are planning to have more aircraft and flying hours than any other year which will include a first for our flying programme.”

The Air Festival takes place from Thursday, August 31 to Sunday, September 3.
