After low cloud ruined any chance of flying on day one, day two was a complete contrast with sunshine and a jam-packed schedule of jaw-dropping displays.

Thousands of people turned out early to claim the best spot on the Pier, sand and clifftops.

The Red Devils had a go on the Pier Zipwire with red smoke trailing behind as they made their way down to the beach.

Flying began with the  Patrouille Reva in what was the team's first display at Bournemouth Air Festival in five years.

Other planes that took to the skies included The Blades, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Hawk T2 Role Demo, Chinook, Black Cats, the Red Arrows and the Eurofighter Typhoon.

The day ended with the mighty Eurofighter Typhoon.

The first dusk display also took place and the sky was illuminated by some dazzling pyrotechnics.
