THE park and ride service will be operating at this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival, with town centre car parks set to be very busy.

At a cost of £10 per car, including up to seven passengers, it will run on all four days of the event from several locations.

The King’s Park site (BH7 7AF) will be open from 10am to 10pm on Thursday, August 20; 9am to 10pm on Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22, and 9am to 6pm on Sunday, August 23.

Redhill Park (BH9 2SW) will be open on the Friday and Saturday from 9am to 10pm and on the Sunday from 9am to 6pm.

The Littledown Centre site (BH7 7DX) will operate on the Saturday from 9am to 10pm and on the Sunday from 9am to 6pm.

Disabled parking is available but limited, with the disabled parking dropoff point at the bottom of Sea Road at Boscombe Pier.

Accessible car-parks are at Sea Road and the Winter Gardens (BH2 5DJ), with 250 spaces available. There is accessible viewing available at Monkey Island, with 80 car parking spots.

Several roads will be closed before, during and after the festival - all road closures and parking restrictions are in force from 8am on Wednesday, August 19, until 6pm on Monday, August 24.

In Boscombe, the bottom of Sea Road, next to the pier, will be closed except for access, with no parking, 24 hours a day.

The Marina will be open to traffic, but with no parking allowed.

East Overcliff Drive and Russell Cotes Road will be closed 24 hours a day, with no parking, while Manor Road and Grove Road will be closed, except for access, with no parking, 24 hours a day.

Pier Approach, between the Royal Bath Hotel and the BIC roundabout, will be closed from 4-11pm each day.

On the West Cliff, Beacon Road will be closed 24 hours a day, with no parking.

St Michael’s Road and West Hill Road, on the sea side of West Cliff Road, will be closed, except for access, with no parking, 24 hours a day.

A tow-away scheme will be in operation for cars parked in no-parking zones.
