Judging of the 2014 Daily Echo and Castle Cameras Air Festival photographic competition has taken place with over 400 entries to deliberate over. We challenged our readers to come up with their best photo that captured the essence of the Air Festival 2014 – which was one of the most successful Air Festivals to be held.

Here are the top-five entries for the adult category and the top four for the 16 and unders. All will receive a copy of our fantastic Daily Echo Air Festival book.

The standard this year was amazingly high and the judges remarked on the diverse range of images from those showing a high technical ability through to those taken from imaginative view points.

The top adult photographer will win £300 of Castle Cameras vouchers and, in the junior category, the prize is a red Canon Powershot SX 280 HS.

The winners will be announced in Saturday’s Daily Echo, so make sure you don’t miss it.
