The first day of the Bournemouth Air Festival 2014 started with blue-ish skies. On the seafront crowds gathered hoping for a bright start to the flying.
The Marines asbeiled in for the launch.
At the Jon Egging Trust stand, Dr Emma Egging took the ice bucket challenge.
There were long queues to meet the Red Arrows:
As wingwalker Tom Lackey took the skies the rain started.
But by the time the Reds flew at 3.15pm it was blue skies.
The Spitfire stole the hearts at Night Air:

And the Marines showed off their strength:
Friday morning was wet, but still busy:
There was bad news as the Canadian Lancaster was grounded, and wind put paid to a number of displays.
But the Chinook wowed the crowd despite the wind:
The Sea Vixen gave us a couple of free displays ahead of her scheduled appearance on Saturday:
And the Typhoon and Miss Demeanour brought the noise.
Things calmed down for Night Air:
And a massive crowd turned out for Rizzle Kicks and Loveable Rogues at Night Air at the Piers.
