THE Tutor is where every RAF and Royal Navy pilot first sits.
This humble aircraft is where everyone begins, whether you want to be in the Red Arrows or fly the Typhoon.
It is capable of full aerobatics and is powered by a single 180hp engine.
Two crew members sit side-by-side to allow for basic flying training and it now has hundreds of thousands of hours with the RAF and will be the basic training plane for some years to come.
When the Tutor displays at the Bournemouth Air Festival, it will run straight towards the crowd at 200mph and the show will see a demonstration of vertical rolls, wingovers and loops.
It will pull G-force from -3 to 5G.
When would-be pilots have mastered the Tutor, they will later find themselves behind the controls of the Tucano.

The display aircraft this year will include a paint scheme of poppies and the words ‘Lest We Forget’, to tie-in with the team’s charities for the year, the Royal British Legion, the Royal Air Forces Association and the Jon Egging Trust.
Once students have got to grips with the Tucano they move onto the Hawk – the jet used by the Red Arrows.
