Dorset drivers raise funds for Ben Andrews Foundation

TWO Damory bus drivers have presented a cheque for £1,229 to the Ben Andrews Foundation, a charity named after the 19-year-old who died in a crash in May on the A354.

Mike Kenyon and Brian Wareham collected the money as they drove the Great Dorset Steam Fair’s free shuttle bus between the event and Blandford over five days.

Ben’s father Paul Andrews, and his friend Laura Haskell, accepted the cheque from the drivers at a presentation held at Damory’s Pimperne depot.

Laura, who had worked with Ben at Tesco in Blandford, established the foundation in his memory to raise money for the emergency services and to boost public awareness.

Paul said: “We really appreciate every penny. The foundation has been set up initially to support the emergency services that helped Ben and his friends.”
