Bad weather delays Poole park rebound wall project

MOVE: The rebound wall MOVE: The rebound wall

BAD weather has delayed the completion of a £2,000 project to move a rebound wall installed in a Poole park just over two years ago.

The wall was part of a £60,000 investment in play equipment at Alexandra Park in Parkstone, but complaints over footballs landing in people’s gardens prompted the council to move it from one end of the multi-use games area to the other.

The work at Alexandra Park in Parkstone was originally due to take two weeks from September 24, but although the wall was moved in the first week, the small all-weather pitch it serves remains fenced off.

Richard Nicholson, greenspace development team leader at Borough of Poole, said: “We have finished moving the rebound wall to its new position but have had to wait for a period of good weather in order to lay the artificial grass carpet and carry out associated sealing works.

“We will endeavour to get this work finished and re-open the facility as soon as possible.”
