No charges for knife fracas footballers

TWO footballers who received knife wounds after a fracas at Bournemouth Poppies’ training ground have been released without charge, police said yesterday.

As reported in the Daily Echo, both were arrested after the incident last month.

They had been released on bail, but yesterday Dorset Police confirmed that they had both been released because neither of the men wished to pursue a case against the other.

Police and the ambulance service were called to Poppies’ Victoria Park ground, pictured, at Namu Road, Winton, on Thursday, September 6.

Both players involved were injured.

I trust the club have got rid of them, using a knive in a fight is right out of order, fighting is a bad example to younger players in any case.So nobody bothers about the waste of police and ambulance time, and they both go unpunished. What has the "poppies" sunk to.

Carry a knife and use it then bang them up or next time someone will be killed.

Is it not an offence to brandish a knife in a public place? if it is why have the police not taken action against these two and made an example of them.I too hope the club has banned them

Why has'nt the police charged them?

Also on a lighter note maybe thats what AFCB needs in defence.Give Addison & co a flick knife.Oh hang on.The attacking team can easily run past Addison!

This story does not surpise me....just look at how few Courts there are now in Dorset...then look at how many two or more day trials have been set up for November ( TWO !!!!!)...is there less crime ?(NO)...it is police cautions/less arrests /less CPS cases reaching Court...why? - all to save the public purse.

Still no statement from club, they obviously think a fight with knives is part of their training, and want to hush it all up.What would Ernie of thought of it.

May be some people need to get the facts right. 1 they both didn't have a knife. Only one of them . 2 Only one player got stabbed . This is a classic case of two people being tarred with the same brush. Get the facts right befor you comment
