A POOLE school has struck gold in both music and sport.
Branksome Heath Middle School is celebrating receiving the National Sing Up Gold Award, as well as the School Games Gold Level Kitemark for PE.
The Sing Up award recognised the school’s progress under music leaders Natasha Skinner and Rochelle Kent, whose initiatives included a boys only choir in year seven.
Head teacher Stuart Fox said the efforts were about “making sure they see Branksome as a place where everybody sings”.
The kitemark for PE recognised the school’s efforts in a host of sports.
Mr Fox said: “Every child has the opportunity to take part in competitions and they’re enabled to take part in competition with other schools at a district and county and regional level.”
