Council vows to cut down on street signs

Cllr Bob Chapman said the council has “a lot of work to do” to remove unnecessary street signs and posts from the town centre.

Cllr Chapman, speaking at the October meeting of the town’s chamber of trade, said he had been part of a council team that carried out a walking tour of the town centre.

Which town are we talking about - perhaps we could have a bit more information than two short paragraphs?

i know councilor chapman is old but this was promised by council three years ago think they need faster zimmer frames issued to senior councilors
also though that BID priority was new signage with better information so that mean more signs

Remove some of the yellow paint. Towns and cities look a disgrace.

But dear old Cllr. Chapman has been on the Council throughout the time all these expensive eyesore signs were going up.
He was there when public money was spent putting them up, now he wants to spend more of our money taking them down.
Where do we get them from?

How about they remove the druggies and wasters from Boscombe before spending a bucket load of cash on removing some road signs!!!

They'll probably fund the removal with the money they receive from all the extraneous and dangerous advertising signs now going up on roundabouts. No, hang on......

Start by doing away with all the 'no cycling' signs!

Better to reduce the number of unnecessary 'warning' signs which distract motorists from actual hazards by warning them of possible hazards.

I expect they'd all be replaced within a couple of years anyway for the sake of doing something in the name of safety, but I suppose it creates jobs.
