FANS queued from as early as 8am on Saturday to meet Radio One DJ Scott Mills as he signed copies of his autobiography.
The popular presenter visited Waterstones at Castlepoint to meet fans, pose for pictures and sign the book, entitled Love You Bye, after his catchphrase on the radio.
Scott, who grew up near Southampton, told the Daily Echo: “They asked me to write a book about a year ago and I thought I had nothing to say, but then I thought I had a few interesting things. There’s a mix of celebrity stuff, early life growing up on the south coast and the whole Radio One journey.
“I have been really honest in the book. I thought: ‘I’m only going to do it once, so I may as well put everything in there.’ There’s stuff you probably wouldn’t know that I’ve not really talked about on the air before.
“If you have the opportunity to write a book, you may as well say it all in there, so it was quite cathartic to write really.”
Scott said doing signing was a new experience for him.
“It’s brilliant; it’s kind of weird because it’s a new thing.
“I’m used to doing student gigs where I turn up at 1am and everyone is drunk and I play songs, but actually signing my own book, the first time I did it was really odd, but cool.”
“Everyone is really nice,” he added.
