VIDEO: Dolphins delight paddle boarders

Picture: Jim Longman Picture: Jim Longman

A POD of dolphins delighted a family as they swam alongside their boat off Hengistbury Head.

The group of around 15 bottlenose dolphins were seen yesterday afternoon by Jim Longman from his Boston Whaler, who sent us in these pictures.

And Mike Jailler sent us this footage of some dolphins joining two paddleboarders at Southbourne this morning.

Do you have photos or video footage of dolphins? Send them to us here  - although please note that it can be an offence to harrass dolphins by approaching or chasing them in order, so please, film from a distance unless they approach you!

You can see more footage sent in by a reader on our Facebook page.

Ooo quick, get some footage before the dolphins hear that plans are afoot to build a wind farm and they leave for good!

Are you not aware that the dolphins have been hired on behalf of Bournemouth Council tourism board,at great expense to the taxpayers.

Apparently they're only meeting 4 out of the 11 agreed performance measures so are awaiting some minor tweaks.

There is no truth in the rumours that the Beach Pods are being renamed Dolphin Pods but the dolphins have been advised to avoid boat propellers
