THE Air Ambulance was called to the Canford Bottom roundabout after a van crashed into a tree around 11.40am today.
The A31 is down to a single lane after the accident, between the Merley roundabout and the Canford Bottom roundabout.
Firefighters, police and the air ambulance were called to the scene. The driver was freed from the van using cutting gear.
Police are directing traffic past the scene in alternate turns. Sensors show that traffic on the Westbound A31 is currently worst affected.
