New date set for Burton Scout Carnival

THE re-arranged Burton Scout Carnival will take place on September 15.

The event, which was due to take place in July, was postponed due to the heavy rain and waterlogged ground. It will start from Burton Primary School in Campbell Road around 1.20pm on Saturday September 15, led by this year’s carnival princess and proceed to Burton Green before it finishes at Martins Hill Lane recreation ground.

The Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Peter Hall will officially open the carnival at 2pm. Activities will include Zumba, a pitch-a-tent relay from the Scouts and dancing from Kaleidoscope dance troupe.

A fun dog show will also take place and youngsters can try their luck at the crockery smash, skittles and coconuts with lots of refreshments also available.
