Dorset cycle effort for Steve’s fund

LOCAL sporting projects will benefit from a gruelling cycle endurance event due to take place in Dorset later this month.

The Primera Sportive event offers a 50- or 100-mile course around the Dorset countryside with proceeds going to the Steve Bernard Foundation.

The foundation was set up following the tragic death of young sportsman Steve Bernard in a car crash in November 2005 just after he started a university course to become a PE teacher.

It was set up to support and fund sporting projects in Dorset and Hampshire and to celebrate Steve’s love of sport.

The cycle ride will take place on Sunday, September 30, starting from Wareham Middle School in Worgret Road. More details are available at primera-sports.com
