The founder of a disability charity for young people ran with the Paralympic Flame on Tuesday.
Sally Bishop, founder of Hornsey based charity Action For Kids, ran with the torch through Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire.
Her leg of the relay was part 24 hour journey for the flame from the birthplace of the Paralympics in Stoke Mandeville to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.
She said: “It was such an honour to carry the flame for the relay. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity which I don’t think any of us will forget.”
The 64-year-old was joined by Lorna Marsh, 33, founder of website smoothwheels.co.uk and learning support assistant Lizzie Rose, 23, who have both been supported by the charity.
Action For Kids supports young people across the country up to the age of 25 with physical and learning disabilities by providing mobility equipment education and learning support.
Mrs Bishop started the charity in her front room 21-years-ago in Tottenham before moving to its current base in Hornsey.
