WIGHTLINK ferries is cutting back on crossings between the Isle of Wight and the mainland because of poor weather.
The firm has announced that it will bring its winter timetable forward from November 5 to September 17, meaning fewer sailings between Lymington and Yarmouth.
A Wightlink spokeswoman said: “The greatest marketing tool I have is a bright yellow sun and we haven’t seen much of that since March.”
There will be a two-boat service between Lymington and Yarmouth, except for Friday, September 21 and September 28 when a three-boat service will operate.
The 20.25 sailing for Lymington and the 21.15 sailing from Yarmouth have been withdrawn, with the exception of Friday and Sunday evenings.
