Talented Christchurch youngsters honoured

TALENTED Christchurch youngsters were awarded for their sporting prowess at The Grange School in Christchurch.

Students from all the Christchurch primary and secondary schools were nominated by their schools to receive a bronze, silver or gold award.

Special guest Campbell Walsh, who won a silver medal in the slalom canoe at Beijing, attended the ceremony.

The gold award winners from The Grange, Twynham and Highcliffe were Chloe Sansom, Joel Roberts and Anthony Harris, with Chloe eventually chosen as the “Olympian” winner.

Chloe, who is passionate about football and has played for Dorset County, also represents the school in netball, rounders, volleyball, tennis and athletics as well as javelin.

She has also excelled at the sports leadership course and runs the school sports council.

The youngster received a certificate, glass trophy, voucher for Sports Direct and a bouquet.
