THE first ever Castlepoint Games have been judged a success, with more than 100 young entrants receiving medals for their Olympic-sized efforts.

Scores of children showed off their sporting prowess in a variety of competitive events, including sprinting, egg and spoon racing, hula hooping and the three legged race.

General manager Peter Matthews said: “Our Castlepoint Choo Choo provided horns and steam to mark the opening ceremony and then the games began outside Marks and Spencer and along East Mall.

“The kids enjoyed the chance to win medals and go down in local sporting history as podium-placed winners.”

The fourth annual Castlepoint fun run is at the Littledown Centre on Sunday, October 14. Visit castlepointshopping.com
