THE line-up for this year’s Night Air at the Piers event as part of the Bournemouth Air Festival just keeps getting bigger and better.

Three nights of music will be taking place from 6pm on Thursday, August 30 to Saturday, September 1 on the Boscombe stage in association with Corona and Wave 105.

Honey Ryder, Ben Montague, Ryan O’ Shaughnessy and now the Lovable Rogues will be supporting the number one artist Newton Faulkner and hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks.

Britain’s Got Talent stars Ryan O’Shaughnessy and the Lovable Rogues will play Friday night and Saturday night respectively. Talented singer/songwriter Ben Montague will perform on Friday night alongside folk duo Honey Ryder.

Scouting for Girls, who will also be playing on Saturday night, said: “Our gigs have a fun, party atmosphere and we look forward to rocking the night away at the Bournemouth Air Festival .”

Jon Brooks, Wave 105’s sales, marketing and operations director, said: “We want to get the crowds going with an exciting mix of current pop stars, while at the same time, cater for a number of different musical tastes.

“With the range of artists performing we feel we have achieved just that.”

The line-up at is in addition to the entertainment at Bournemouth Corona Music Stage (Thursday – Complete Madness, Friday – The Queen Band and Saturday – Who’s Who) and a programme of family entertainment in the Lower Gardens.

The Bandstand will host the Amy Mayes Band on Thursday, The Jackson 3 on Friday and The Sidemen on Saturday, all performances are from 8.30 to 10pm.

Jon Weaver, Air Festival director, added: “The line-up is just getting better and better – this is a fantastic addition to an already award-winning Festival – we can’t wait to welcome this stellar line-up Bournemouth.”

Hang on this is the second time the beach has been restricted to those with tickets. How long before we start having to pay for them? The torch relay is one thing, but the beach should not be restricted to ticket holders.

err how about no time! As tickets are £3.50 each assuming you even get lucky enough to get selected for being able to buy them

It has not been made very clear but it seems that only the Boscombe Pier Corona Music Stage evening entertainment being run by Wave 105 is by ballot and chargeable tickets.

The Bournemouth Pier Corona Music Stage evening entertainment is free!

Would have thought that as part of the Airshow and part of summer entertainment for a tourist town both would have been a free event though!

The holidaymakers/visito
rs will be well chuffed that an event is taking place where you needed to buy tickets in advance by entering a ballot!

Interesting tie up with Corona Lager though as an Air Festival sponsor. I thought Bournemouth Council wanted to get away from the drinking image for the town! Is their no joined up thinking going on or is everybody just doing their own thing still - even under the new Chief Executive.

Will be interesting to see if their are Corona mobile bars selling their lager on the beach or is Corona the lager of choice being sold in all the council run venues now?

Perhaps the Royal Marines beach assault this year could incorporate blowing the surf reef up!

yeah if it can be free at Bournemouth, why not Boscombe to! It says on the t & c`s that no alcohol is allowed in the venue, so go figure is sponsored by a alcohol company, but alcohol not allowed in, unless as you say they will be selling it in the area!
