Man arrested after Boscombe murder released on bail

THE 22-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Reece James Menzies has been released on police bail.

The man was arrested on Thursday following the death of the 21-year-old Londoner in the early hours of Wednesday morning at a flat on the corner of Sea Road and Roumelia Lane.

Reece, also known as Stylie, had been shot in the face and police are renewing their appeal for information three days after his death.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Connolly, of Dorset Police ’s Major Crime Team, said: “I consider this a pre-meditated and targeted attack by a number of offenders and I would like to reassure the public that we are taking every step to identify and apprehend those responsible.

“This is a significant event and it is going to affect many people’s lives. My aim is to stop any action like this, prevent it occurring and anybody else being affected.

“The only way I can do this is for people to come forward and to help us with our enquiries.

Witnesses and anyone with information can call Dorset Police on 101.

If he was a gang member who did the hit he'll never been seen again. I trust our local police are talking to the Met. Seems a strange decision if he was a prime suspect.

I would ask the local and very able Chris weeks to please engage with the community and try to explain to us why this man was released on bail, tell us why the decision was taken, im not knocking him personally, im asking him to at least let us understand why a prime suspect is released on bail, i know the usual thread is we cannot discuss suspects etc, just give us a general reason why a muder suspect is released on bail,
