TALENTED students from Oakmead College of Technology are counting down the days to the finals of the national Rock Challenge competition on July 22.
The group will travel to the Milton Keynes Theatre in a bid to bring the title back to Bournemouth. Their powerful portrayal of Hiroshima has seen the students storm to victory in heats in Bournemouth and the recent regional final.
The competition is part of the Global Rock Challenge, which aims to encourage young people to take part in positive leisure activities, free from drugs or alcohol.
Team leader Geoff Lake said: “It has given me great pleasure to work with such a talented and enthusiastic cast this year. The competition was of a tremendous standard and Oakmead are extremely pleased and lucky to take on the chance to compete at the national final.”
