Occupy Bournemouth protesters ordered to move on from Town Hall

BOURNEMOUTH council won a court order to move on Occupy protesters who have set up camp outside the Town Hall.

Lawyers won the immediate possession order at Bournemouth County Court and officials from the council returned to advise the group they were trespassing and had to leave by 6pm.

A spokesman said if the small group had not left by Monday, the council intended to apply for a warrant for their eviction from the site.

Waste of time, they will only move somewhere else, very quick order this time as it was the town hall and not near residents.

Just got back from walking the dog and noticed that they've set up camp in Bournemouth Upper Gardens, on the stretch between Prince of Wales Road and Branksome Wood Road.

I had hoped they might have moved to the grass in front of Barclays House or The George Roundabout in Poole

Sorry, that should have read For Harry, England and Saint George.
Let's leave God out of this.
Once more, onto the beach, dear friends!

Good on them. I hope they keep highlighting the injustice.
The most recent banking scandal is EXACTLY why they are doing it.
When will people WAKE UP?

Oh really, so why is everything they do still such a mystery because i dont think anyone has a clue what they are all about .hence the negatives ,they just come over as a load of squatters.
if you believe a few people camping in front of the town hall is going to change anything ,you are delusional . Money talks and the politicians are the worst of all for it.

Google. "Occupy" It's not rocket science. Educate yourself and do some research. If you are happy to see corporate greed and banks shaft everyone then that's fine.
at least they are doing something.

Google 'occupy' , okay so whats the point of camping outside the town hall when no one knows what they stand for ,they may as well hold up a banner saying 'go home and google occupy because we dont know why we're here' . You just havent grasped what we are saying to you ,the message should come directly from the protesters not from google -oh this is getting boring ----- !

If only the Council would move as fast to evict the travellers. No chance of that though is there?
As long as it is only the taxpayers who are suffering, they couldn't care less. As soon as it's on their doorstep, they move like lightening.

Totally agree with Wallydown. I have been involved in many protest campaigns and not once have I ever been involved in any group who just say 'google us'. The whole point of a protest group and pressure group is to raise awareness and change public opinion to support your cause. Occupy have never grasped this concept and have lazily suggested the public to go and find out about them themselves. Its as if they dont care about anyone but themselves as if they were truly serious they would be trying to reach out to as many people as possible.

And have to agree with Pugs statement about them actually wasting council money too, Occupy thats our money you are wasting!

Where have occupy said "google us"?
Twisting things a bit to suit your argument, which is that you are too lazy to find out or ask if you don't know and it's easier to sit on your @rse than to do something about the problem of 1% of the people having 99% of the wealth.
Don't complain about your money being wasted when the bankers and politicians are keeping it all and you don't do anything about it.
Occupy is a worldwide movement. How long have you had your head in the sand not to know that?

It was interesting to listen to radio four this morning and here just what impact the Occupy Movement has had all over the world. Here locally we protesters I think its safe to say, are lucky to have the support of 99% of the people who have taken the time to come and visit us, which in the last week must have been over 200 visits. A chap and his wife called in especially this morning to thank us for our efforts. Thats what makes this all worth while. Many people are slowly waking up to the facts. We the people are being lied to and stolen from. the liers and the thieves are white coller workers, they work in banks, in the NHS, in local councils, they are right under your noses. Anonymous UK and The Occupy Movement are dedicated to getting more and more people involved in stopping the rot. Its been my great pleasure and great privillage to be part of this protest.

I have approached them and attempte to discuss what they are doing only to be told to go forth and multiply. Charming!

I am seriously struggling with the above statement "We the people are being lied to and stolen from. the liers and the thieves are white coller workers, they work in banks, in the NHS, in local councils, they are right under your noses." Are you saying that white collars workers are the problem? Really? If so then as the majority of workers in this country are white collar - good luck with "Anonymous UK and The Occupy Movement are dedicated to getting more and more people involved in stopping the rot" With statements like that you certainly won't be representing the 99%, not even the 50%
