Parent Linda Poulter, 42, whose son Daniel is in Year 6 said: “The school is a happy and caring environment and that’s from both sides – as a parent and helper. You can see how hard the teachers work – they’re dedicated.”

Tanya Marsh, 38, mum to Ashleigh in Year 2 and Dylan in Year 4, said: “It has a family feeling about it and the staff are so approachable.

For me, the children love the school and their friends and don’t want to be anywhere else.”

Year 5 teacher, Helen Simpson, 46, said: “For me, the Priory feels like a community. The teachers take a personal interest in the children and it’s so nice when old pupils come back in to see us. In fact, some are coming to help at sports day.”

Teacher Mike Jeffes, who has been at the Priory for 23 years said: “The Priory is so much more than just academia. We try to bring out a rounded person in all our pupils and prepare them for their future the best way we can.”

Year 6 pupil Chris Blown, 11 said: “I love everything about school.

I really enjoy everything we do and really love sport.

Everyone is very friendly. I like showing people around in my duties as head boy.”

Year 6 pupil Amy Mills, 11, said: “One of my favourite things we did was a big dig and found an old coin.

I like history and we get to do lots of really interesting things. It’s a lovely school. The teachers are very nice
