Firms in £740k tax fraud probe

TWO businesses in Bournemouth and Poole are being investigated following the arrests of three Hampshire men on suspicion of a £740,000 fraud.

The three were arrested in Southampton on Tuesday morning on suspicion of VAT and Income Tax fraud.

Businesses in Bournemouth, Poole and two in Southampton were then searched.

Two of the men were also arrested on suspicion of money laundering offences. All three have been bailed until August.

This paper gets worse by the day. All the news as it happens... last week reported next week though. Not content with running news after everyone else has forgotten it, now we have a few vague rumours making the headlines.

tricky simples many of us feel that a community needs a good quality local paper. None of us, I assume, has the money or resources to start one. Therefor we feel that if we keep complaining about the lamentable quality of the one we have eventually somebody might take notice and employ some competent reporters and an editor who can get off their arses and run a decent newspaper.
