POLICE officers wearing forensic gloves and the force sniffer dogs carried out a swoop on a house in an affluent area of Poole yesterday.

Officers could be seen picking through items in the garage of a large house in Ormonde Road, Branksome Park.

Blanche Creek, who lives opposite, spotted three police cars in the road at about 2pm.

She said: “I heard a lot of barking while I was putting my plants out in the garden.

“A policeman came over and just asked whether another garage belonged to that house.

“The officers kept going backwards and forwards all afternoon.”

Mike Kaskell, from Eaton Road, said he knew the owner of the house but believed he leased it out.

Mr Kaskell said: “Some of the people used to have loud parties, but in the last year or so it’s been pretty quiet.”

An Ormonde Road resident saw four cars and an armed response vehicle at around 4pm as she came home from shopping.

The woman, who asked not to be named, said: “There was an officer wearing black with a black bag on his back and blue gloves.

“I didn’t know what had happened.

“Later I heard dogs barking from the police van.”

Officers left the scene at around 5pm.

Some were pulling dark suitcases and got into an unmarked police car.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “Police were searching a house in Ormonde Road as part of an ongoing investigation following the arrest of three men in the local area.”
