THE Red Arrows are due to make their first return to Bournemouth on Saturday after the tragic events of last year’s air festival.

The legendary aerobatic team are using Bournemouth Airport as a base for the Queen’s Jubilee flypast at Windsor Castle.

It will be the first time they have been in the resort since Flt Lt Jon Egging died in a crash close to the airport following a display at the festival last August.

They are due to be at the airport between 9am and 11am to refuel.

The flypast at Windsor involves a host of aircraft. As well as the Red Arrows there will be several army and navy helicopters, as well as a Hercules, Tucano, VC 10, Tornado, Spitfire and Lancaster.

They are due to fly over Windsor at around 12.25pm.
