THE alleged victim of a sex assault by speedway star Darcy Ward had sex with another man while Ward and a teenage boy were in the room, a court heard.

Bournemouth Crown Court was told the 17-year-old girl wanted sex with the man in a hotel room in Poole.

But the man told the jury: “She was keen on having sex with me but it was only me that she wanted. I think they wanted more than they were getting.”

Twice world under-21 champion and Poole Pirates star Ward, 20, of Poole Road, Sturminster Marshall is accused of sexually assaulting the girl at the Premier Inn in Holes Bay Road on August 17 last year.

The Australian rider, one of the sport’s rising stars, denies the offence.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denies one offence of rape and three of sexual assault, involving the same girl.

The third man told the court he did not see any of the alleged assaults but said he and the two accused “panicked” when they saw blood and ran away from the hotel.

Under cross examination, the third man agreed the alleged victim had made “no complaints” during alleged assaults.

The trial continues.
