A DORSET charity gave schoolchildren and two local companies the chance to feel the magic of the London Olympics.

Pupils, families and staff from Yarrells Preparatory School, Lilliput First School, Baden Powell and St Peters School, and Canford School took part in an Olympic Park Parade with Diverse Abilities Plus.

And teams from accountancy firms Ward Goodman and Princecroft Willis ran 100 metres on the track after entering the park on the official athletes’ route. Both companies have raised money for Diverse Abilities Plus, the charity that has been supporting children and adults with cerebral palsy and associated disabilities for the last 57 years.

The schools and companies have signed up to the Gold Challenge 2012 Challenge, a project that involves teams being sponsored to collectively cover distances of 2,012km by July 27.
