THE world premiere of a new piece of music will be one of the highlights at an official celebration planned for Friday, March 9.
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will perform at the two-hour ceremony on the old power station site in Hamworthy, from 4.30pm.
A flotilla of illuminated vessels representing Poole will pass through the bridge while the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Collingwood plays a trumpet fanfare.
Live music and street entertainment follows on the Quay, with fireworks at 9pm.
Free tickets for the official celebrations of Poole’s new Twin Sails Bridge will be available from Poole Lighthouse Box Office, in Kingland Road, from 11am on Wednesday.
They will be handed out on a first come first served basis and limited to four per household.
