STOBOROUGH First School pupils were thrilled to be invited to the Houses of Parliament.
The children accompanied adults on a guided tour of the House of Commons, the House of Lords and Westminster Hall.
The 27 Purbeck pupils were selected for the London visit to see their work on display in the Commons’ private members’ gallery.
They had created posters portraying the importance of childhood education, as part of the Send My Sister to School initiative. This programme aims to ensure all girls, around the world, will be educated by 2015.
Year Four teacher Mrs Andrews said: “The day has been really valuable for children.
“They feel that they have a voice and are able to make a difference.”
